CORE Papers

Core papers are subject-specific compulsory courses that form the backbone of the M.A. degree. These include theoretical papers, advanced readings, critical analysis and sometimes practical components (for certain disciplines). Core papers assess deep subject knowledge and are mandatory for the chosen specialization.

AECC (Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course)

AECC courses focus on communication, research methodology, environmental studies, or other ability-enhancement modules. These courses are compulsory and usually aim to improve transferable skills such as academic writing, research aptitude and communication.

Electives & Dissertation

Elective papers allow students to specialize further or take interdisciplinary options. In Semester IV many programmes include a dissertation or major project — a substantial research assignment with supervisor guidance and a viva voce defence.
